The West Bank Today: Facing the Abyss
Speaker Tour | 4–13 September | Venues across Scotland
An opportunity to hear directly from the Hebron International Resource Network (HIRN) about the current emergency in the occupied West Bank and the grassroots work supporting Palestinian communities.
Occupation policies in the West Bank are placing Palestinian resilience under extreme stress. Grassroots organisations like HIRN have become even more vital in supporting communities – their work done is done without fanfare. But it depends on maximising direct contributions from a worldwide network of individuals and organisations like PalCafe.
PalCafe has supported HIRN through donations from ceilidhs and other events and is committed to continuing that support.
Join us at one of two events in Glasgow or at a venue nearer you to hear first-hand accounts, ask questions and learn how we can all help get money to where it’s needed.

During the attack on Tuba in Masafer Yatta in the southern West Bank, homes were set alight, and the community’s solar panels, which supply electricity to the village, were destroyed. The settlers also left graffiti in Hebrew, including the message ‘The land of Judah awakens’. Six Palestinians, including women and children, were injured, five of whom were hospitalised.

It’s back – our monthly PalCeilidhs resume this month And we begin with the THIEVIN’ CORBIES – the renowned Glasgow folk band inject a twist of jazz into traditional Scottish music and we love them for their unflagging support for social campaigns and charities—such as recent events for Medical Aid for Palestinians and Refuweegee. They are a perfect band to begin our autumn PalCeiidhs – they turn ceilidh dancing into grassroots community solidarity and fun.
